Classic car restorer opens up shop

Chris Jensen’s passion for restoring cars began at 14 years old.

Since rebuilding that 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Santa Barbara, Jensen has renovated dozens of other classic cars in what has become a way of life and a business.

Now, more than 25 years later, Jensen and his wife, Kelly, who live in Nipomo, have opened Hot Rod Depot in Santa Maria. It is the only shop of its kind in the city, he said.

The shop at 222 N. Blosser Road is at the former site of Bob Pyne Transmission, which was seized in April by the Internal Revenue Service for unpaid taxes.

After years of operating Dale’s Alignment & Brake shop on East Mill Street, the couple sold the business and opened Psyco Cycles & Hot Rods in Nipomo.

However, they are back in Santa Maria, and are hoping to reconnect with old friends, Kelly Jensen said.

2010 Chevy Traverse Review | Chevrolet - The Car Connection

&Nbsp; If you're considering the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, you're probably shopping for room and some cargo-carrying capabilities. Depending on whether you most value passenger or cargo space, you could look to other crossovers or more traditional truck-based SUVs. Armed with both firsthand driving experience and highlights from some of the best review sources on the Web, TheCarConnection.com provides a clear opinion on the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, why you should or shouldn't consider it, and how it matches up against other utility vehicles. They're nearly identical, so it depends on whether a particular dealership is willing to haggle. To fill the void left by the departure of the long-running Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV, GM introduced the Chevrolet Traverse crossover late last year. The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse is also related to the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, and its one of the more fuel-efficient vehicles in its class, thanks to its direct-injection 3.6-liter V-6 engine. The Traverse's styling may not be to everyones taste, but its hardly what you would call offensive. The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse lacks the chunky, truck-inspired lines of the GMC Acadia or the flow of the Buick Enclave, but its simple design has an air of minimalistic elegance that we find charming. Inside, the low-key theme continues, but in a sea of overwrought luxury interiors, it's refreshing. For those drivers looking to downsize their full-size truck or SUV for something nearly as capable...
