Police: 2 men stole 17 trucks

DAYTONA BEACH -- For almost two years, a pair of Daytona Beach men took the slogan "If you can't Dodge it, Ram it" literally, police said.

Claudious Stallings and his roommate Lavarus Peterkin stole a bevy of Dodge trucks and used the vehicles to ram into businesses so they could steal goods, investigators said. They were arrested earlier this month.

After a lengthy investigation that involved the Daytona Beach Police Department's entire property crimes division, led by Sgt. Mike Griffin and Detective Joey Snowden, police were able to shut down what they suspect was a retail store of pilfered goods being operated from Stallings' house.

The merchandise -- which included everything from costume jewelry to motor scooters and NASCAR leather jackets -- was stashed at the house that Stallings
