TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - During a marathon eight-hour meeting, Chrysler unveiled an ambitious five-year plan Wednesday in Auburn Hills, and dealers are reacting positively.
By 2014, the automaker plans to double car sales and pay back all loans to the U.S. Government. Chrysler leaders will do this by investing $23 billion to re-establish damaged brands by expanding the product line and refreshing designs for both the interior and exterior of existing models.
Ralph Mahalak Jr., runs the Monroe Chrysler Jeep Dodge superstore in Monroe. "I thought it was good news," he said.
Mahalak is particularly excited about Chrysler's partnership with Italian automaker Fiat. He says Chrysler's previous owner, Daimler Benz of Germany, had a different business philosophy.
